The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has announced that the voluntary administrators of Eric insurance Limited will hold a creditors’ meeting on 16 September 2025. The purpose of this gathering is to allow creditors to vote on a deed of company arrangement (DOCA) proposal, which could serve as an alternative to placing the company into liquidation.

Eric Insurance, a small general insurer that specialised in providing add-on motor vehicle-related products, made the strategic decision to exit the general insurance market in July 2023, ceasing to write new insurance policies by June 2024.

In an effort to safeguard policyholder interests, APRA has been maintaining heightened supervision of Eric for an extended period and has been exploring various exit options in collaboration with the insurer and its administrators. The authority is closely monitoring Eric’s withdrawal from the insurance sector to ensure the most advantageous outcome for policyholders.

For further contact, the administrators can be reached via email at [email protected]. More information regarding the administration process is available on the Eric Insurance website.
