The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has officially cancelled the credit licence of Queensland-based provider Chuuse Pty Ltd. The cancellation took effect on 11 August 2025.
ASIC acted under section 54(1)(b) of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009. The commission determined that Chuuse had stopped engaging in credit activities.
Chuuse has the option to appeal the decision at the Administrative Review Tribunal.
Since 19 July 2012, Chuuse held credit licence number 423638. It was permitted to operate as a credit provider.
From 23 April 2021 to 8 March 2023, the firm’s sole director was Mr Darren Thomas Edden-Brown. He is also known as Darren Brown, Darren Edden Brown, and Darren Thomas Brown.
On 12 April 2023, ASIC banned Mr Edden-Brown from all credit activities and financial services for eight years. The ban also prevents him from controlling or functioning as an officer of any entity in credit or financial services. ASIC concluded that Mr Edden-Brown was not fit and proper for these roles and lacked adequate training and competence in the industry.
